Eastleigh return to the Silverlake Stadium for the penultimate match of the regular season against Solihull Moors looking to reignite their playoff hopes in the 45th matchday of the Vanarama National League on Saturday 22nd April with a 3pm kick-off. Preview in association with Unibet.

Eastleigh:

After a much-needed week’s break, the Spitfires will look to shake off a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat at Chesterfield last weekend.

However, the Spitfires will be buoyed by Bromley dropping points in midweek meaning the chances of reaching the playoffs remain realistic.

Eastleigh have only just dropped below the dotted line with just two matches remaining despite having failed to win in the last five matches, proving how impressive the campaign had been up until that point.

That good work has been especially evident at home where the Spitfires have the best record outside the runaway top two in the division. Eastleigh have won 14 of their 22 matches at the Silverlake Stadium this season and lost just four times.

Kairo Mitchell and Charlie Carter both made it two goals in two matches last time out and will be looking to extend those runs to fire the Spitfires back into form.

Carter is now on 11 goals just four behind the club’s top scorer Danny Whitehall who has netted 15 times this season.

Solihull Moors:

Similarly, to the hosts Solihull Moors arrive to the Silverlake Stadium in faltering form having gone five matches without a victory after a 1-0 defeat at Barnet in midweek.

The Moors’ last victory came on the 18th of March when the West Midlands club defeated Boreham Wood 2-0 at home.

Solihull Moors still have three matches of their season left but the defeat on Tuesday evening ended any slim hopes of a late playoff push.

Instead, the Moors sit in 11th position with 57 points and only a victory over the Spitfires would mean the West-Midlands club could still finish above Eastleigh in the table.

Away from home Solihull Moors have struggled, winning just six of their 21 fixtures so far this campaign, which ultimately derailed any ambitions of returning to the play-off final for a second consecutive season.

The Moors top scorer is Josh Kelly who has netted 11 times so far this season and the striker netted four times in four matches at the end of March.

Fixture History:

The Spitfires will be looking to avenge a 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture at the AMRCO Arena in October.

Solihull Moors capitalised on two second-half penalties and saw James Clarke sent off on route to the three points.

The two sides have faced off 12 times in their history with Solihull Moors having won seven, the Spitfires having won three, and the spoils having been shared twice.
