The Spitfires visit the New Forest to take on Bashley in their final pre-season test, on Saturday 29th July, with a kick-off time of 3pm at the Glen Mex Stadium.

Bashley FC:

This fixture is the final pre-season friendly for the hosts, following a positive series of results against tough opposition.

During pre-season, The Bash have been involved in some high-scoring encounters, narrowly missing out 3-2 to Winchester City and the recently promoted, Weston-Super-Mare FC.

Matt Tubbs’ side will round off their pre-season preparations with a visit from the Spitfires, a challenge against the highest-ranked club they will have faced.

In two weeks, Bashley will welcome Yate Town FC to the Glen Mex Stadium as they kickstart another league campaign in the Southern League Division One South.

Eastleigh:

A youthful Spitfires side suffered a 3-0 defeat to Dorchester Town on Tuesday evening.

Kaya Tshaka and Trialist B’s efforts on goal couldn’t provide a reply against the confident Magpies, handing Eastleigh their second pre-season defeat.

Lee Bradbury’s side have also enjoyed encounters with football league opponents, Oxford United and Swindon Town, with the Spitfires providing a 2-2 comeback against the latter.

A visit to Solihull Moors on August 5th will mark the start of another season in the National League for Eastleigh.

Previous meetings:

The two sides have only met once (not incl. HSC) in the FA Trophy, 15 years ago, which saw Bashley proceed following a 2-0 victory.
