Eastleigh Football Club can confirm that Will Merry has joined the Spitfires on loan until the end of the season.

The 18-year-old has joined Eastleigh on loan from Southampton FC, a club that he has been apart of for ten years.

Last year, the attacker penned a professional deal with the Saints to keep him in SO14 until 2025.

During his time at Southampton, Merry has made 26 youth appearances in various competitions and has scored seven goals whilst assisting twice in that time.

The Spitfires will act as a first senior loan for the youngster with this being the first time spent away from the Saints in his senior career.

Upon joining the Spitfires, Merry said: “I’m delighted to be here. I’m excited for the challenge that it’ll bring and hopefully, I can help this club for the remainder of the season!”

“I had my first training session on Wednesday and it’s a good group of lads who have been really welcoming to help me settle in.”

Merry will be available for selection in this afternoon’s league clash against Woking.
