The Spitfires are on the road for the last time this season, as we travel to The Laithwaite Community Stadium on Saturday 26th April, with a kick-off time of 12:30pm.

Woking:

Last time out, this afternoon’s hosts got revenge on Aldershot Town for their Isuzu FA Trophy defeat earlier in the month. Within 20 minutes, Woking had taken a 3-0 lead. They would then hold on to that scoreline for the rest of the game, and earned an impressive win over their local rivals.

Woking have been on a good run of form, and haven’t lost in their last seven league games, with four of those results being wins. They have not lost at the Kingfield Stadium for over a month.

The Cardinals sit in 16th place in the standings, and could leapfrog Eastleigh with a win this afternoon.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires have picked up a couple of impressive results in their last two games. Last time out, we hosted Yeovil Town at the Silverlake Stadium, and thanks to a 30th minute strike from Chris Maguire, following a stylish bit of play, Eastleigh came out on top.

Prior to that, Eastleigh travelled to league leaders, Barnet on Good Friday. Paul McCallum got himself back in the goals in the 36th minute, but would see his goal cancelled out by Danny Collinge just before half-time. A strong defensive display in the second-half would see the Spitfires earn a point on our travels.

These results have helped the Spitfires climb back up into the top half of the table. A win could see us rise up into the top ten, with just one game remaining.

Davis: “It’s very difficult to stay motivated, if you like, in terms of being at the peak of your performance because it’s close to the end of the season and people are thinking about their future. I just asked them to be as professional as we can be, be a team right until the end, and let’s see where that takes us.

“We said a couple of weeks ago that we didn’t want to finish the season on 53 points and we’ve corrected that and put some points on the board. The group are good, they’re honest and they want to work hard and win games of football so there’s also an opposition to overcome in doing that but I feel like we are, with everything considered with what we’ve got within the squad, in a good place for the weekend.”
