The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action, as we host Aldershot Town at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday 15th February, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires were left disappointed following their most recent outing. A strong performance against a high-flying Forest Green Rovers side was not rewarded, following a late winner for the Gloucestershire side that day.

In the Spitfires’ game before that, there was more late heart break. Regan Linney squeezed the ball home for Altrincham, in the dying moments of an intense Isuzu FA Trophy tie at the J Davidson Stadium to knock the Spitfires out of the tournament.

Tyrese Shade has served his three-match suspension and will be looking to get himself back on the team sheet this afternoon.

The Spitfires find themselves in 14th in the standings, and will have the opportunity to return to the top half of the table with a win this afternoon.

Aldershot Town:

The Shots have not been in action for two weeks, after their scheduled home clash with AFC Fylde last weekend was postponed.

Their last outing come in the form of an Isuzu FA Trophy tie with Boreham Wood. Goals from Jack Barham and Kai Corbett helped Aldershot to make it through to the quarter-finals of the tournament that day.

In their last league game, Aldershot drew 2-2 with Tamworth at the EBB Stadium, with Luca Woodhouse netting an 80th minute leveller to earn his side a point.

The Shots are just two points clear of the relegation zone going into this afternoon’s game, and will be wanting to create a bit of breathing space over their rivals by getting a positive result against the Spitfires.

Aldershot Town’s last five results:

01/02/25 | Aldershot Town 2-0 Boreham Wood | Isuzu FA Trophy

25/01/25 | Aldershot Town 2-2 Tamworth | VNL

14/01/24 | Aldershot Town 2-2 Braintree Town | VNL

Previous meetings:

Results between the two sides have been fairly even as of late. In the last five meetings, both teams have won twice, with the other game ending in a draw.

The most recent clash between the two Hampshire sides came back in October at the EBB Stadium.  Ludwig Francillette put Eastleigh into a 49th minute lead that day. But, a late comeback from Aldershot would see them steal the win.

09/12/23 | Eastleigh (4) 2-2 (5) Aldershot Town | Isuzu FA trophy
