Close joined up with the Spitfires for a second loan spell at the club, part way through the 2024/25 campaign.

His first stint in Eastleigh came back in the 2016/17 season. He made nine appearances during that time, and went on to break into the first-team at Portsmouth following his time with the Spitfires.

Across his seven professional years at Portsmouth, Close made just shy of 200 appearances across all competitions.
