It’s time for the Spitfires’ last Vanarama National League game before Christmas, as we host Maidenhead United at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday 21st December, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires are now unbeaten in their last five games. In our most recent match, we made the long trip up to Lancashire to face AFC Fylde at Mill Farm. Tyrese Shade found the back of the net twice in that one, but would go on to see the home side score an equaliser deep into stoppage time.

Before that, the Spitfires had picked up back to back wins. The first coming against Ebbsfleet United, with Scott Quigley netting just after the hour mark in the 1-0 win.

The second win came against Hanwell Town in the FA Trophy. After Jai Semenyo was taken down in the box late on, Chris Maguire buried a penalty to earn the Spitfires a spot in the Fourth Round of the tournament.

Maidenhead United:

This afternoon’s visitors are going through a rough patch of form, and have only managed one win in their last eleven games across all competitions.

Their most recent win came back in November against Braintree Town. Shawn McCoulsky found the back of the net in under a minute during their 3-1 win at the Rare Breed Meat Co Stadium.

The Berkshire side were moments away from winning in their last game, but saw a late equaliser from Solihull Moors that would force them to settle for a point.

Maidenhead United’s last five results:

14/12/24 | Maidenhead United 1-1 Solihull Moors | VNL

07/12/24 | Slough Town 2-1 Maidenhead United | Isuzu FA Trophy

Previous meetings:

The two sides last met on the opening day of the season in a clash at York Road. Jake Vokins scored his first ever Eastleigh goal with a long-range free kick not so long after forcing an own goal from Will de Havilland. The Spitfires went on to seal a 2-0 win in that one.

However, the last time the sides met in SO50, it was the Magpies who came out on top, following a late comeback from the Berkshire side.
