Eastleigh Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Wes McDonald on a short-term contract following the expiration of his contract at Partick Thistle.*

McDonald spent his youth career at three different clubs in Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Birmingham City before signing a professional contract with the Blues in 2015.

The winger was sent out on loan and spent time at Nuneaton Town and Solihull Moors in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

A move to the South-East was next for McDonald when he joined Yeovil Town and made nine appearances with the then League Two side.

The 27-year-old then returned to the Midlands when he joined Walsall and went on to flourish after making 69 appearances, the most at any club he’s been to.

The 2021/22 season saw him move to Morecambe where he appeared 17 times for the Shrimpers before resettling in the North-East with Hartlepool United.

His most recent club prior to Eastleigh was in Scotland where he spent the 2023/24 season playing for Partick Thistle.

Upon joining the Spitfires, McDonald said: “I’m delighted to be here! I’m excited to get involved and hopefully, I can help the club reach their ambitions this season.”
