The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action, we host Solihull Moors at the Silverlake this evening, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires were last in action on Saturday afternoon, we hosted AFC Fylde at the Silverlake Stadium and beat them 4-2 after an impressive comeback.

A brace from Nick Haughton within the first 27 minutes put the Coasters two goals ahead completely against the run of play.

Jake Taylor went on to pull a goal back just before the break, with Paul McCallum then levelling up the scoring just after it.

Chris Maguire was subbed on in the 69th minute, and made an instant impact by giving the Spitfires the lead. McCallum then bagged his second of the afternoon, which helped the Spitfires to see out the remainder of the game and seal the win.

Solihull Moors:

After beginning the season with a defeat, the Moors had a more positive result last time out, as they beat Maidenhead United at the ARMCO Arena.

All of the goals in their 2-1 win were scored within the space of 11 minutes. An own goal from Maidenhead ‘keeper Craig Ross opened the scoring, before Tahvon Campbell doubled the Moors’ lead.

Maidenhead pulled one back when Jordan Tunnicliffe turned the ball into the back of his own net, but it wasn’t enough for them to get anything from the game, with Solihull going on to put their first points of the season on the board.

Solihull were beaten on penalties by Bromley in the play-off final last season, as they came agonisingly close to earning a place in the Football League.

Tyrese Shade started for the Moors at Wembley that day, and will have the chance to come up against his former club this evening.

Previous meetings:

McCallum scored a hat trick the last time the two sides met at the Silverlake Stadium. However, that was matched by this evening’s visitors as they scored three in return, meaning the game would end all square.

The last time the Spitfires visited the ARMCO Arena, Enzio Boldewijn scored early on in the second-half to give the Spitfires the lead of the game. His goal was cancelled out late in injury time by Kyle Morrison.
