The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action for the second time this week as they host Hartlepool on Saturday 23rd March, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires were last in action on Tuesday night as they travelled up to the Hive Stadium to face Barnet.

The Bees took a 2-0 lead within the first 40 minutes, Chris Maguire went on to respond with a goal of his own on the stroke of half-time.

A solid second-half from the Spitfires was not rewarded, they couldn’t quite find a breakthrough and were forced to settle for defeat.

Paul McCallum will be available again today after returning from international duty.

A win today for the Spitfires could see them leapfrog their opponents and climb up the table.

Hartlepool:

The Pools did not have a game on during the week.

Their last match came last Saturday when they hosted Southend United at Victoria Park.

The tightly contested game ended goalless.

They had not played for two weeks prior to this due to postponements.

Kevin Phillips’ Pools are currently sat in 13th place in the league, with a total of 48 points.

Previous meetings:

When the sides met earlier in the season, the Pools came out in top.

Maguire scored a pearler of a free kick but it wasn’t enough for the Spitfires as they went on to lose 3-1.
