There was late drama in South Wales as the Spitfires forced League Two Newport County to a replay in the FA Cup third round.
When defender George Langston was dismissed late in the first half it looked as though the result was only going on way.
The hosts went ahead just after the interval after James Clarke converted from a set play.
Then ten minutes from time McCallum was bundled over and the Spitfires were awarded a penalty kick.
Maguire stepped up and calmly sent the keeper the wrong way to level the score and send the tie to a replay at the Silverlake.
There had been a buzz around the football club ever since the Spitfires famously defeated League One Reading in the second round of the FA Cup.
The excitement was clear to see with one thousand Eastleigh fans braving the journey to South Wales for the third round clash.
The Spitfires were aiming to cause yet another upset, this time against League Two side Newport County, which would see them reach the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.
After a nervy start from both sides, the first chance of the game fell to the hosts when Palmer Houlden headed wide a cross from inside the box after seven minutes.
Moments later Newport should have opened the scoring.
A low cross from the left-hand side found its way through to an unmarked Will Evans who got his foot under the ball and fired over from ten yards out
The home side continued their attacking intent and a had a penalty claim waved away by referee Ed Duckworth after James Clarke had his header blocked by Quigley.
A goal mouth scramble followed, with the Spitfires eventually getting the ball clear after Clements superbly cleared the ball off the line.
The hosts went close again on the half-hour mark when Palmer Houlden got underneath a testing cross from former Eastleigh full-back Lewis Payne.
As the first half came to a close, the Spitfires found themselves down to ten men.
George Langston was given his marching orders after the referee adjudged him to have elbowed a Newport player.
With the visitors now down a man, the hosts continued to test the Spitfires’ defence, Evans again headed over with moments left to play of the first half.
Just after the break and completely against the run of play, a long ball from Joe McDonnell sent through Chris Maguire who nearly put the Spitfires ahead after his volley crashed against the post.
The deadlock was finally broken when the hosts took the lead in the 56th minute.
A low corner found its way to Exiles defender James Clarke who wrapped a low effort past McDonnell in goal.
With the hosts looking for a second, Morris tried his luck from range but McDonnell saved comfortably.
in the 67th minute the Spitfires almost made it level.
A square ball from Quigley found its way to the path of McCallum who’s spinning effort at goal was saved by keeper Townsend.
With 20 minutes to play, Croll’s superb diving header denied a powerful Bondswell strike from range.
Ten minutes from time the Spitfires were awarded a penalty after McCallum was brought down inside the box.
Chris Maguire stepped up and fired the ball into the top right corner to bring the score level and send the travelling fans wild.
The hosts piled on the pressure at the death but after some resolute defending the Spitfires held out for a draw to keep their FA Cup dream alive.
