The Spitfires travel up north for their latest National League clash, as they face AFC Fylde at Mill Farm on Saturday 16th September, with a kick-off time of 3:00pm.
AFC Fylde:
Fylde have struggled to adapt to life back in the National League following promotion from the National League North last season.
Their only win of the season to date came against fellow promoted side Kidderminster; where goals from Luke Charman and Luke Conlan either side of Kieran Phillips’ equaliser were enough to secure the win.
The Coasters fell to defeat last time out in the National League, as Aldershot Town ran out 2-0 winners at Mill Farm, with goals from Ryan Glover and Tyler Frost sealing three points for the Shots.
Despite blanking against Aldershot last week, scoring goals hasn’t been an issue for Fylde, who have scored in every other league game so far this season.
The problem for the hosts is that they lead the league in goals conceded, with 21 goals scored against the Coasters in just eight games.
Discipline has also been a problem for the Lancashire side, who have had three players sent off so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
Eastleigh:
Having seemingly turned a corner with four points from two games against Aldershot and Dorking, the Spitfires suffered defeat at home to Gateshead in their last league fixture.
The Spitfires are currently two points and two places above Fylde and a win against the Coasters would go a long way to pushing Eastleigh in the right direction in the National League table.
Previous Meetings:
Fylde have had the better of recent meetings between the two clubs – when the Coasters were in the National League between 2017 and 2020, Eastleigh failed to beat Fylde in six attempts.
Four of the games ended in a draw and both of Fylde’s victories against the Spitfires came at Mill Farm.
