Eastleigh are on the road for the first time in three games as they travel to Victoria Road to face Dagenham & Redbridge in the 30th matchday of the Vanarama National League on Tuesday 14th February with a 7:45pm kick-off. Preview in association with Unibet.
Dagenham & Redbridge:
Following the postponement of this fixture on January 17th due to a frozen pitch, Dagenham and Redbridge went four games without a victory, losing three in that time.
However last time out, the Daggers broke that barren run by defeating Solihull Moors 2-1 at Victoria Road which reclosed the gap to the promotion places to just one point and one place.
New signing Inih Effiong got off the mark for Dagenham and Redbridge scoring both goals in that victory after joining from Aldershot Town for an undisclosed fee on 7th February.
Effiong signed after the departure of the Daggers’ top scorer this season Josh Walker to League One side Burton Albion, having scored 12 goals this campaign.
Junior Morias is now leading the golden boot race for Dagenham and Redbridge with nine goals this season.
Eastleigh:
The Spitfires will be looking to bounce back from just their fourth home defeat of the season after being eliminated from the FA Trophy by Maidstone United at the weekend.
Aaron Martin will be suspended from the midweek clash following a red card for a second bookable offence in the 4-0 defeat last time out.
Despite the recent results, Eastleigh’s last away fixture was an emphatic 3-1 victory over promotion rivals Southend United, which was the Spitfires’ first away victory in the league since August.
While last time out in the league Vincent Harper’s brilliant goal against Woking pushed Eastleigh to within two points of the playoffs and into 10th position.
Fixture History:
The head-to-head between the two sides is as close as the league table suggests as the two teams have faced off 12 times in their history.
Dagenham and Redbridge lead by one having won five of those matches, while Eastleigh have won four and the remaining three ending in stalemate.
The reverse fixture in August also ended in a draw thanks to a 93rd-minute equaliser from Charlie Carter to cancel out a Paul McCallum opener for the Daggers.
While last season’s two fixtures were both won by the Spitfires.
