Eastleigh return to the Silverlake Stadium for another Tuesday night under the lights. This time, the Spitfires host Scunthorpe United in the 17th matchday of the 2022/23 Vanarama National League campaign on Tuesday, 1st November with a 7:45pm kick-off. Preview in association with Unibet.

Eastleigh

For the second week in succession Eastleigh will be looking to respond instantly to defeat at the weekend.

A single goal from Jahmari Clarke meant the Spitfires came away from Woking without any points on their trip to Surrey.

However, Eastleigh have been far more imperious at home and will be looking to take their unbeaten run at the Silverlake Stadium into double figures with a positive result tonight.

A victory could see the Spitfires move within one point of the play-off places. Eastleigh’s top goal scorer Danny Whitehall will be looking to make it two from two at home having scored his fifth goal of the campaign in a 1-0 victory over Torquay United last midweek.

Scunthorpe United:

The Iron’s have had an extra day to prepare for this midweek fixture having played on Friday night in a 1-1 draw with Barnet.

Scunthorpe have won just once in their last six league matches and sit 20th in the Vanarama National League.

Draws have been a major reason Scunthorpe currently sit in the relegation zone and one point adrift of safety despite having only lost once in their last nine league matches.

Despite the Iron’s league position, Joe Nutall has been impressive in front of goal this season and currently sits sixth in the National League golden boot race with nine goals so far this season having grabbed a brace from the penalty spot against Gateshead last week.

Previous Meetings:

It is the first Vanarama National League season Scunthorpe have competed in their 123-year history so this will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams after Scunthorpe United were relegated from League Two last season finishing bottom of the pile in the 2021/2022 season.
