The Latics have made a stuttering start to the season as they adjust to their first ever campaign in the Vanarama National League, with their relegation last year ending their 114-year stay in the Football League.
The Greater Manchester-based outfit are in 16th position having picked up just two wins and eight points so far this campaign.
John Sheridan’s side have lost four of their last six matches as well, with a 3-0 defeat away to Woking in their most recent game causing outrage amongst the supporters.
It sparked news in the build up to this fixture that Sheridan will be stepping down as manager after the game, as he will bid farewell to the Boundary Park faithful.
Oldham’s top scorer, Hallam Hope, will remain absent as he recovers from an incident two weeks ago.
Eastleigh:
The Spitfires head into matchday nine in eleventh place, three points and five places above Oldham in the table.
Lee Bradbury’s side picked up a point at home against Yeovil Town in their last outing, coming from behind at the Silverlake Stadium after conceding an early goal.
In truth, Eastleigh dominated and were unfortunate not to take all three points as they had to settle for a draw with JJ McKiernan’s second half equaliser.
The result maintains Eastleigh’s unbeaten home form so far this season, as the Spitfires have picked up three wins and three defeats alongside two draws.

This will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two sides, as they are in the same division for the first time in their history.
