Eastleigh:

Eastleigh come into the game off the back of a dramatic 3-3 draw which relegated their opponents on Saturday, King’s Lynn Town.

The Spitfires fell behind in Norfolk as the spirited Linnets battled for every point in their bid for survival. However, Lee Bradbury’s side turned the tide in the second half with a Tyrone Barnett header and Vincent Harper’s first goal for the club.

A 95th minute goal from Gold Omotayo seemed to let the point slip, but Harper raced up the field to win a penalty that Michael Kelly dispatched in the 100th minute to share the spoils.

Eastleigh remain in 19th position, with their highest possible finish now 16th in the Vanarama National League.

FC Halifax Town:

The Shaymen have enjoyed a successful season at the top end of the table, and have confirmed themselves a playoff position with a chance to steal the title still mathematically possible.

Pete Wild’s side come into today’s game off the back of a narrow win over Yeovil Town, as Zachary Dearnley’s 83rd minute strike was the difference in North Yorkshire.

FC Halifax Town sit third in the league thanks mostly to their home form, which is the best in the division, as no team in the National League has conceded fewer goals this season than The Shaymen.

They haven’t fared as well away from home of late, though, with only one win in their last six away matches.

Billy Waters is their top scorer this campaign with 18 goals, as three players (Waters – 18, Warburton – 12, Slew – 10) have all hit double figures in the goalscoring charts this season.

Previous Meetings:

FC Halifax Town slightly edge the recent meetings between two sides thanks to their victory earlier this campaign giving them three wins to the Spitfires’ two, with one draw making up the last six encounters.

A Jordan Slew brace, as well as goals from Jamie Allen and Matty Warburton, gave them a comfortable 4-0 win at The Shay in January.

Eastleigh have a strong record against the Yorkshire side at the Silverlake Stadium with three victories, two draws, and just one defeat in the six meetings in all competitions
