Despite a late goal from Aaron Blair, a defensive lapse followed by a well-taken free-kick from Ben Greenwood proved enough for Farnborough to claim victory over Eastleigh.
Kelvin Davis named a strong starting XI despite the absence of captain Jake Taylor and striker Paul McCallum, who missed out through suspension.
Freddie Ingram led the line for the second consecutive match, while Jordan Cousins stepped in for Taylor and wore the armband at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium.
The first chance of the game came within the opening three minutes, as Eastleigh were awarded a free-kick 20 yards from goal. Kieron Evans stepped up and attempted to catch the goalkeeper out at his far post, but his effort drifted just wide.
Moments later, the Spitfires threatened again when Trialist A broke away down the left and delivered a low cross into the box. Aaron Blair met it at close range, but his shot was blocked by a defender. The rebound fell to Ingram, whose effort was well saved by Jack Turner at the expense of a corner.
Trialist A continued to cause problems down the flank, once again beating Louis Lomas before whipping in an inviting cross, though it was not met with a clean connection in the box.

Farnborough’s first real chance came in the 38th minute, and it proved decisive. A mix-up at the back gifted Rakish Bingham an open goal, and he made no mistake in slotting home to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Eastleigh nearly found a response moments later, but Turner produced a superb save to deny a powerful close-range strike from inside the area to keep Farnborough ahead going into half time.
Farnborough came extremely close to doubling their lead when Mason Bloomfield brought the ball down superbly before driving toward goal and unleashing a powerful effort from distance. His strike smashed off the inside of the near post before Eastleigh managed to clear the danger.
With 15 minutes remaining, another chance fell to Bloomfield after a failed clearance from Killick landed at his feet on the edge of the box. The striker fired a low shot toward the bottom corner, but NickTownsend got down well to make a sharp save.
Bloomfield had an even better opportunity just a minute later when Aaron Kuhl drilled a low cross into the area, but the forward couldn’t keep his effort down and sent it over the bar from close range
With five minutes to go, Ben Greenwood doubled the yellows lead with a free kick that flew into the top left corner.
Almost instantly the Spitfires would reply when Evans sidewinding shot was blocked into the path of Blair who made no mistake in slotting the ball passed Turner to make it 2-1.
Blairs goal was the last action of the Spitfires 2025/26 pre-season as the game ended 2-1 to Farnborough.
