Eastleigh won their second game in a row after Aaron Blair continued his fine vein of form netting two goals in a 2-0 win at the Silverlake Stadium.
The Spitfires’ secured a home victory over Boston United, as Aaron Blair’s superb second-half brace sealed all three points for the Spitfires.
After beating Aldershot in a thrilling Hampshire derby earlier in the week, Eastleigh carried that momentum into this clash and produced another strong performance. They controlled the tempo for long spells, created the better chances, and eventually broke Boston’s resistance thanks to Blair’s clinical finishing — the forward now netting three goals in his last two games.

Kelvin Davis was forced into one change from the side that beat Aldershot 3-2 in midweek. With striker Paul McCallum suspended after his late red card in the derby, new signing Zavier Massiah-Edwards, on loan from Watford, was handed his first start for the Spitfires. Jordan Cousins took the captain’s armband in McCallum’s absence, while club captain Jake Taylor made his return to the matchday squad for the first time this campaign, named on the bench.
Eastleigh began brightly, looking to build on their midweek momentum. Archie Harris, who had set up two goals against Aldershot, whipped in several early crosses, but none found their target in the opening exchanges.
In the 10th minute, however, Harris found joy down the left and drilled in a low ball across the box. Massiah-Edwards held it up superbly with his back to goal before laying it off to Josh Lundstram. The midfielder’s strike took a deflection, and as the ball fell kindly for Massiah-Edwards, his follow-up effort was dramatically cleared off the line for a corner.
The Spitfires kept the pressure on Boston’s goal, with Harris and Angel Waruih probing from wide areas. A deep delivery towards Aaron Pierre caused problems, and though the defender appeared to be fouled by goalkeeper Rhys Lovett, the referee waved away Eastleigh’s appeals. The loose ball fell to Waruih, but he was crowded out before he could test the keeper.

Boston offered little threat for much of the half and had to wait until the 40th minute for their first effort. Alex Shankshear found space down the left and swung in a cross that turned into a shot, but it flew harmlessly over Nick Townsend’s bar.
Just before the break, Lundstram’s sharp footwork drew a cynical pullback from Boston’s captain, who was shown a yellow card by referee Ben Atkinson. That proved to be the final action of the half, which ended goalless at 0-0.
Five minutes into the second half, Eastleigh came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock. Aaron Pierre, having won the ball in midfield, powered through several Boston challenges before releasing Josh Lundstram. The midfielder struck low and curling towards the far corner, only for Rhys Lovett to tip it onto the post with a superb save.
Aaron Blair then broke down the right-hand side with space to exploit and whipped a dangerous cross into the box for Massiah-Edwards, who was tightly marked. The forward couldn’t make clean contact, and it proved to be his final involvement before being replaced on 59 minutes by youngster Freddie Ingram.
Blair continued to torment the Boston defence, this time taking down a long ball from Pierre with excellent control. Cutting inside on the edge of the box, he let fly with a strike bound for the top corner, but Lovett pulled off another outstanding save to turn it behind.
From the resulting corner, Eastleigh almost found the breakthrough. The delivery was aimed towards the back post, where Pierre rose highest — much like his goal in midweek — but once again Lovett was equal to it, producing yet another fine stop.
The Spitfires finally got their reward when Blair’s persistence paid off. Ingram worked well down the left to send in what looked a routine cross, but Blair stole in ahead of his marker and was brought down inside the box. The referee pointed to the spot, and Blair, showing composure, stepped up to fire the penalty straight down the middle, giving Eastleigh a deserved 1-0 lead.

With just ten minutes later Aaron Blair done it again! A overhit ball found Temi Eweka who headed the ball back across goal and like a bullet he powered the ball into the top right with a fantastic header.
Just ten minutes later, Aaron Blair struck again. An overhit ball was retrieved by Temi Eweka, who cleverly headed it back across goal, and Blair rose like a rocket to power a stunning header into the top-right corner.
Blairs goal was the last bit of action in the 2-0 win as the Spitfires’ won their second game in a row with Blair scoring 3 goals in his last 2 matches.
