The 2025/26 Enterprise National League season continues on Saturday 9th August. The Spitfires return to the Silverlake for their first home fixture of the campaign as they host Gateshead, with a kick-off time of 3pm.
Eastleigh:
The Spitfires will be looking to register their first points of the campaign after last weekend’s 1-0 defeat against Brackley Town in the season opener.
Eastleigh beat AFC Fylde 4-2 in their first home game of last season, thanks to a Paul McCallum double, and strikes from captain Jake Taylor and Chris Maguire. The Spitfires will be hoping to start this season’s home campaign in a similar fashion.
This weekend’s fixture will be a difficult test for the Spitfires as both sides suffered defeat on the opening weekend without scoring.
Gateshead:
The Tynesiders had a testing opening weekend to the new season as they lost 3-0 at home to Southend United.
After just missing out on the play-offs last season by a singular point, the Tynesiders will be hoping that they can go one better and reach the play-offs come the end of this season.
Pre-season was productive for Gateshead as they picked up six wins, one draw and one defeat in eight games as well as making several new signings.
This weekend’s fixture will provide another opportunity for their new signings to show their quality and to try to help the North-East side earn their first points of the season.
