Eastleigh Football Club are pleased to confirm the permanent signing of goalkeeper Josh McNamara following his departure from Southampton!

The 21‑year‑old shot‑stopper gained his professional foothold at Southampton after previously being part of Manchester City’s academy setup. Josh has represented both clubs throughout their development squads, making a combined total of 17 appearances in Premier League 2 across several seasons.

He also featured in a loan spell at St Albans City in the National League South during the first half of the 2023/24 season, earning valuable senior minutes.

Josh was part of Manchester City’s Under‑18 squad that won the Premier League 2 title in 2021/22 before moving to Southampton in July 2023. He went on to make ten appearances for the Saints’ Under‑21 side during the 2023/24 campaign, and a further seven appearances in 2024/25, totalling 17 matches in Premier League 2.

Upon the arrival of the shot-stopper, Kelvin Davis said: “We’ve had a number of trialists in this position and we’re looking for character first and someone that’s hungry to improve.

Josh comes in with a fantastic pedigree having come out of a great academy and having ties with Manchester City too. He’s got ability, he’s keen, and he’s come in and excelled so we’re really pleased to have him on board!”
