The ten-men of Eastleigh are beaten by Tamworth at the Lamb Ground after Quigley was shown a straight red card in the first half.

Following a tightly contested first 40 minutes, Scott Quigley was sent off. The home side would score two in the second-half, on their way towards earning themselves three points against the Spitfires.

The first big chance of the game came in the eighth minute. Corey Panter curled a cross towards Richard Brindley, who headed the ball just over the goal, and onto the roof of the net.

Tamworth’s first proper go on goal wouldn’t come until the 24th minute. Beck-Ray Enoru broke through on goal, and blasted the ball at Joe McDonnell. The ball then bounced away, before finding George Morrison who sent his follow up effort flying over the crossbar.

Quigley was sent off in the 41st minute, for an off the ball incident, meaning the Spitfires would be left with ten men for the rest of the game.

Munashe Sundrie blazed a free-kick from the edge of the area just over the crossbar on the stroke of half-time, meaning the teams would be even going into the break.

Dan Creaney connected with a corner just after the interval, but couldn’t direct his headed effort on target, as he saw the ball fly just wide of the post.

Haydn Hollis would then go on to give Tamworth the lead in the 53rd minute. Following a long throw, he managed to meet the ball, and would see it trickle into the bottom right corner of the goal.

Not so long later, Morrison dragged a shot from the edge of the box just wide of the target, with Tamworth now looking to double their advantage.

They would go on to do so, bang on the hour mark. Tom McGlinchey got in behind, before curling the ball into the left side of the goal, to get his second in as many games.

McGlinchey had another crack on goal in the 64th minute. He chopped his way inside, before curling the ball towards the same corner he found just a few minutes before, but this time, he could not find the target.

Tyrese Shade made his way towards goal down the left flank before chopping in and curling a shot just over the crossbar in the 74th minute, as Eastleigh attempted to get back into things.

Chris Maguire pounced on a loose ball in the 87th minute, and put it into the back of the net. But, he would see his goal ruled out as offside.

Despite the late push for a goal, the Spitfires were unable to score, meaning they’d go on to lose in Staffordshire.
