The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action, as we make the trip up to Greater Manchester to face Oldham Athletic under the lights at Boundary Park on Tuesday 11th March, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm

Oldham Athletic:

This evening’s hosts have gone seven games without a win, and will be hoping to turn that around on home soil, as they take on Eastleigh.

They have also gone seven games without a win at Boundary Park across all competitions, and will be keen to put a stop to that run.

In their last game, they travelled to Tamworth and came away with a point. Joe Pritchard netted a penalty in the 36th minute, but would see his goal get cancelled out by Dan Creaney just six minutes later.

After recalling Jesurun Uchegbulam from Eastleigh just eight days ago, Oldham have started the attacker in both of their games since then, and he will be in with a chance of facing the Spi

Oldham Athletic’s last five results:

04/03/25 | Boston United 0-0 Oldham Athletic | VNL

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires come into this one off the back of an impressive run of results. With only one defeat in their last seven games, the Spitfires come into it as the side on form.

Last time out, the Spitfires drew with Hartlepool United at the Silverlake Stadium. Tyrese Shade netted his tenth of the season during the 1-1 draw, with an impressive chipped finish.

The Spitfires added to their ranks yesterday, with attacking midfielder, Nathan Tshikuna linking up with Kelvin Davis’ men on a permanent deal.

Currently, Eastleigh sit just three points away from the play-off places. A win tonight would help the Spitfires to continue their push for one of the highly contested positions in the table.

Previous meetings:

The two sides last met in January, and played out what was a tightly contested 2-2 draw at the Silverlake Stadium. Ludwig Francillette and Richard Brindley both chipped in with goals for the Spitfires that day.

The last time the two sides met at Boundary Park, Chris Maguire netted an early penalty which would eventually be matched by Alex Reid in the 69th minute, meaning the sides would share the points.
