The Spitfires secure a huge win over Hampshire rivals, Aldershot Town, following an impressive display at the Silverlake Stadium.
Goals from Jai Semenyo and Tyrese Shade, along with a clean sheet would help the Spitfires on their way to securing a memorable result.
A quarter of an hour into it, James Henry had an audacious effort on goal. He tried to curl the ball home from around 25 yards out, but would see the ball bounce its way into Joe McDonnell’s hands.
Jesurun Uchegbulam then had a shot that looked destined to find the back of the net, with the Spitfires’ first big chance of the day. After cutting in towards the box, he whacked the ball towards the far side of goal, but would see his powerful shot flash just wide of the target.
Uchegbulam continued to cause problems for Aldershot, and going into the 25th minute came close to setting up one of his teammates. He broke in behind their defence, before whipping a cross into the area. The ball went just too high for Ben Close, before eventually finding it’s way out to Angel Waruih on the edge of the area. Waruih had a go, but would see his effort get blocked by the Aldershot defence.
The next time the Spitfires got a look on goal, they made no mistake. Again, Uchegbulam broke down the right side, before crossing the ball into the area. Jai Semenyo would find the ball at the back post, and would power it home to score his first goal of his senior career.

The visitors came close to getting a rapid response, when Josh Barrett had a go with a free-kick shortly after the opener. His shot curled it’s way towards the bottom left corner, forcing McDonnell into action.
The Spitfires would go on to double their lead just before the half-time break, with Tyrese Shade announcing his return to the side in impressive fashion. He wrong-footed Marcus Dewhurst, to slot the ball home into the bottom right corner.
Niall Maher had the first big chance after the interval. Close squared the ball into his path, but he was unable to control the ball properly, and could only direct it wide of the target.
Shortly after coming on, Chris Maguire set Jake Taylor up for a chance to score Eastleigh’s third of the afternoon. He created a clear path for Taylor to shoot into, but the captain was unable to beat Dewhurst in the Aldershot goal, who got up well to palm his shot away.

Going into the last 15 minutes or so, the away side began to start putting a bit more pressure on the Eastleigh goal, but were unable to find a way through, as the Spitfires went on to secure an impressive win over their Hampshire rivals.
