A first-half goal sees the Spitfires earn three points against Boston United up in Lincolnshire.

Jake Taylor gave Eastleigh a lead that they would not lose in the 38th minute, after poking the ball home with a shot from the middle of the box.

Late on, Tyrese Shade doubled Eastleigh’s lead of the game, which would help the Spitfires to survive a late scare, with Connor Teale pulling one back in the 90th minute.

This made it three wins in a row for the Spitfires, as they travel back to Hampshire with their good run of form remaining intact.

The game got off to a relatively slow start, with neither side managing to create anything significant on the attacking end.

The first big chance of the game came in the 23rd minute, with Jai Rowe blasting a shot from the edge of the box wide to the right of goal.

In the 38th minute, Taylor gave Eastleigh the lead of the game. After being found in the box, he would place the ball home into the bottom left corner in calm fashion, netting his second goal in as many away games in the process.

Keaton Ward attempted to level things quickly after, with a free kick. But, he would see his shot looped it’s way over the goal.

Tyrese Shade broke through on goal in the 44th minute, to go one-on-one with Cameron Gregory. He was unable to beat the Boston ‘keeper, who deflected his shot away from goal.

Scott Quigley had the last chance of the half just after the Shade effort. He shot the ball into the palms of Gregory, who met the ball low to keep his side just one goal behind going into the break.

Following the break, Noa Boutin provided a superb block to deny Tony Weston from levelling things with one of his first touches of the ball. Weston came on as one of four half-time substitutes for the home side.

Luis Fernandez sent a dangerous looking low-driven cross into the box in the 57th minute, which would find Quigley, who was unable to direct the ball on the target.

Moments later, Jacob Hazel scored a goal for Boston, but would see it ruled out due to him being in an offside position in the build up.

With the home side pushing for an equaliser, their next chance came in the 72nd minute, when Frankie Maguire sliced the ball high and wide of the target with a shot from the edge of the box.

In the 77th minute, Tyrese Shade scored his third goal in as many games, doubling the Spitfires’ lead in the process. After twisting and turning his way through the Boston defence, he whacked the ball past Gregory and into the top right corner.

Connor Teale would go on to pull a goal back for the home side in the 90th minute, but it would not be enough for his side to go and and earn anything, meaning the Spitfires would win in Lincolnshire.
