The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action, as we travel to Gloucestershire to face Forest Green Rovers at the New Lawn on Saturday 8th February, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Forest Green Rovers:

The home side have been on an impressive run of form, and haven’t lost since September. They are currently occupy second place in the table, but have a game in hand over the league leaders, Barnet.

The Gloucestershire side were in action during the week, and made a trip to the capital to face Dagenham & Redbridge. A solid display would see them beat the London side 2-0.

In their previous match, Oxford City provided an upset, and knocked them out of the Isuzu FA Trophy.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires have not been in league action for two weeks, with their last game coming last weekend against Altrincham in the FA Trophy.

A last gasp winner from Regan Linney meant that the Spitfires would exit the tournament, following a tightly contested affair at the J Davidson Stadium.

The Spitfires’ last league clash came against Sutton United. A second-half penalty from Will Davies was enough for Sutton to earn a win that day.

Previous meetings:

Following Forest Green Rovers‘ promotion to the football league after the 2016/17 season, the two sides had not met for just over seven years, until the reverse fixture happened earlier this season.

Despite the Spitfires going into the half-time break one goal to the good, Forest Green were able to win at the Silverlake Stadium, thanks to goals from Harry Cardwell, Tom Knowles and Charlie McCann.
