The Spitfires’ Isuzu FA Trophy journey continues, as we travel to Greater Manchester to face Altrincham at J Davidson Stadium on Saturday 1st February, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Altrincham:

The Robins came painfully close to securing an impressive win over Forest Green Rovers in their last game, but were pegged back in the fourth minute of injury time, and were forced to settle for a point.

They have only lost one in their last ten games across all competitions, and are unbeaten in their last five games.

The only side to have beaten this afternoon’s hosts at the J Davidson Stadium this season, is Eastleigh.

Altrincham reached the fifth round of the tournament by beating National League leaders, Barnet 3-1 back at the start of the month.

Altrincham’s last five results:

25/01/25 | Altrincham 1-1 Forest Green Rovers | VNL

18/01/25 | Eastleigh 1-2 Altrincham | VNL

14/01/25 | Altrincham 4-0 Maidenhead United | VNL

04/01/25 | Altrincham 3-1 Barnet | Isuzu FA Trophy

26/12/24 | Altrincham 0-0 FC Halifax Town | VNL

Eastleigh:

The last time the Spitfires were in action, they made the short trip up to London to face Sutton United at the VBS Community Stadium.

After Chris Maguire was unable to find the back of the net with a spot kick on the stroke of half-time, Sutton capitalised by scoring early on in the second-half.

Will Davies’ goal was the only one of the game, with Sutton earning all three points from the tightly contested clash.

The Spitfires reached the fifth round of the Isuzu FA Trophy after beating Basford United 4-1 in the previous round of the tournament. Paul McCallum netted two, with Richard Brindley and Alex Stepien-Iwumene also both finding the back of the net at Greenwich Avenue.

Previous meetings:

The two sides last met very recently. Two weeks ago, Altrincham made the trip down to Hampshire to face the Spitfires in a Vanarama National League clash.

Ten-man Eastleigh were beaten by the Greater Manchester side 2-1, with Alex Newby and Tom Crawford both finding the back of the net for Altrincham at the Silverlake Stadium that day.

When the two sides met at the J Davidson Stadium earlier this season, it was the Spitfires who came out on top.

A penalty from Chris Maguire in the second-half of the game would see the Spitfires earn an impressive win back in August.
