The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action, as we travel up to the West Midlands to face Solihull Moors at the ARMCO Arena on Tuesday 14th January, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.

Solihull Moors:

The home side have been in good form as of late, and haven’t lost in any of their last five league fixtures.

They were last in action on New Year’s Eve. They hosted local rivals Tamworth at the ARMCO Arena, and  earned a solid win thanks to a brace from Conor Wilkinson.

Solihull have not conceded in either of their last two games, with their other clean sheet coming against Boston United on Boxing Day. The Moors have lost just one league game at home since September.

After the first 25 games of the season, Solihull occupy sixth place in the Vanarama National League table, and have earned 41 points.

Solihill Moors’ last five results:

31/12/24 | Solihull Moors 2-0 Tamworth | VNL

26/12/24 | Boston United 0-1 Solihull Moors | VNL

21/12/24 | Solihull Moors 4-1 AFC Fylde | VNL

14/12/24 | Maidenhead United 1-1 Solihull Moors | VNL

10/12/24 | Solihull Moors 2-1 Aldershot Town | VNL

Eastleigh:

Last time out, the Spitfires earned a good point against Oldham Athletic at the Silverlake Stadium.

Ludwig Francillette and Richard Brindley both found the back of the net with headed finishes, during the 2-2 draw against the Greater Manchester side.

Previously to that, the Spitfires drew with Barnet von New Year’s Day. Tyrese Shade found the back of the net in the 16th minute, to give the Spitfires the lead, before Callum Stead eventually pegged them back in the 71st minute to make things even.

A win against Solihull could see the Spitfires go up to 8th in the standings.

Previous meetings:

The two sides last met back in August, with Eastleigh coming out on top that day. Goals from Jake Taylor and Paul McCallum within the first ten minutes of the game helped the Spitfires on their way to earning a win over the Moors.

Last season, both meetings between the teams ended level. McCallum netted three at the Silverlake Stadium, during a six goal thriller.

When Solihull hosted an opening day clash between the two sides, Enzio Boldewijn had looked set to earn the Spitfires a win on his competitive debut, after heading home in the 55th minute. But, Solihull found a late equaliser, which forced the Spitfires to settle for a draw at the ARMCO Arena.
