Scott Quigley changed that just after the hour mark. He display good skill and composure to give the Spitfires a lead that they would not lose.

The Spitfires came even closer to scoring, just a few moments later. Following a bit of a scramble in the box, the ball was cleared off the line by the Fleet defence, to deny Eastleigh of an opener.

Aaron Cosgrave took aim in the 20th minute, with the home sides first chance of the game. He attempted to place a shot from the edge of the box into the bottom right corner, but was denied by McDonnell who got down low to catch the ball.
Substitute, Dominic Gape curled a shot just over the crossbar from the edge of the box in the 42nd minute, as the Spitfires continued to push to gain the lead before the break.
The two sides were locked together at the break, with the Spitfire having the majority of the big chances.
After the break, it was the hosts who had the first chance of scoring. Jephte Tanga unleashed a powerful volley on the edge of the box, but saw it fizz wide of the mark in the 53rd minute.
Tyrese Shade then went up the other end and had a go of his own, not long after the Ebbsfleet chance. He had a contested shot on the edge of the box get caught by Cousins.
The Spitfires took the lead just after the hour mark. Quigley capitalised on a mistake from Cousins, and pounced on a loose ball. He then rounded Cousins before cooly placing the ball home.

Quigley then came inches away from grabbing a second, but floated a close-range effort just wide of the target.
Both sides then went on to push to score, with neither managing to create any chances of note within the next 20 minutes or so.
At the start of injury-time, Quigley had a shot blocked on the edge of the box. The ball went out for a corner, that did not come to anything.
