The young Spitfires progress into the second round proper of the FA Youth Cup, following a superb win over Torquay United under the lights at the Silverlake Stadium.
Torquay took the lead early on, but that did not put the young Spitfires off of their game.
The young Spitfires put five past the Torquay defence, with goals coming from Ethan Jones, Barney Stone and Darnell Tarney.
The first chance of the game for the young Spitfires came within the first couple of minutes, when Ingram fired a shot just over the crossbar from the edge of the box.
The visitors took the lead of the game around five minutes later, with a mix up at the back leading to an unfortunate own goal.
Following this, Stone made a magnificent run to slice his way through the Torquay defence, to give himself a look on goal. Once he found his way into the box, he took aim, but saw his shot get saved well by Luke Adams.
Freddie Ingram was taken down just inside the box, to give the young Spitfires a chance to level the scoring in the 21st minute.
Jones stepped up to take the spot kick, and made no mistake as he powered the ball into the back of the net to put things back on level terms.
Not too long after the young Spitfires scored, Charlie Luff attempted to give the Spitfires the lead of the game. He had a go from range, but saw his shot bounce just wide of the post.
Chase Michel came painfully close to putting the young Spitfires in front in the 36th minute, but saw his shot from close range get deflected away from danger.
Early on in injury-time, Jones sent a cross into a dangerous area, forcing Adams to get down low to parry the ball away. The attempt to clear the ball found its way to Stone, who headed the ball at goal. To his dismay, he saw the ball come off the wrong side of the post, meaning the two teams would be all square going into the break.
The young Spitfires had a bright start to the second-half, with Stone rewarding their work with a goal.
After being found in the box by Freddie Beale, Stone fired the ball into the bottom left corner, giving Adams no chance of denying him from putting the young Spitfires into the lead.
Moments later, the visitors put themselves back on level terms. A mistake at the back gave Toby Hard the opportunity to place the ball home from close-range.
The lively start to the second-half continued, when Stone looked set to restore the young Spitfires’ lead in the 62nd minute. He had a go from the middle of the box, but couldn’t find the target with his effort.
Lucas Robinson forced White into making a diving save in the 68th minute, with a shot from the edge of the box that he sent sailing towards the top right corner.
White went on to produce another fine save when he read an awkward bounce well to push the ball over the crossbar.
With the prospect of extra-time looming, substitute, Tarley cannoned the ball into the back of the net to give the young Spitfires the lead in the 88th minute.
Extra-time goals from Jones, who fired home from the spot for the second time and Stone who also bagged his second goal of the evening helped the young Spitfires on their way towards what ended up being a comfortable win at the Silverlake Stadium.
