The Spitfires are back Vanarama National League action, as we host Braintree Town at the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday 7th November, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires were not in action last weekend, due to it being an Emirates FA Cup game week.

Last time out in the league, the Spitfires hosted newcomers, Boston United. Chris Maguire rescued a point late on, with a cooly placed penalty.

Another point was earned late on, in our game before that. Paul McCallum popped up late on and scored against his former side, Dagenham & Redbridge, in a 2-2 draw at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

Braintree Town:

This afternoon’s visitors were in Emirates FA Cup action last weekend, and were subject to a narrow defeat at the hands of Brackley Town.

Following 120 minutes of goalless football, Braintree were beaten on penalties by their National League North opponents.

This came off the back of a tough few games for the Essex outfit, with them losing in all of their last three league games, against Sutton United, Wealdstone and Forest Green Rovers respectively.

A win this afternoon could potentially see today’s visitors lift themselves out of the relegation zone.

The two sides faced each other early last year, in the Isuzu FA trophy. Danny Whitehall hit home late on, to send thee Spitfires into the fifth round of the competition.

The two sides haven’t met in the league since 2019, with Braintree being promoted back to the National League via the play-offs last season.

The Spitfires have come out on top the last three times the sides have met.
