The young Spitfires progress in the FA Youth Cup, after beating Brockenhurst under the lights at Grigg Lane.
Some impressive goals helped Jason Brookes’ side on their way to achieving qualification for the next round of the competition.
The young Spitfires came close to scoring pretty much straight away, with Freddie Ingram breaking into the box within the first couple of minutes. His shot went just over the crossbar, but marked a positive looking start for Eastleigh.
Brockenhurst then had an attempt on goal of their own in the fifth minute, with Aaron Batista dragging a shot just wide of the target.
Charlie Luff had a go from the edge of the box after this, but saw his hot get blocked. The resulting corner was then headed just over the bar by Coby Killick
Freddie Beale gave the young Spitfires the lead of the game in the 12th minute. He fired the ball beyond Pardey and into the bottom corner.
The young Spitfires’ next chance of the game came eight minutes later, with Barney Stone having a headed effort on goal. His shot did not manage to find it’s way into the back of the net.
Ethan Jones would then go on to hit the wall with a free-kick, as the young Spitfires continued to push for a second at the half hour mark.
Batista had Brockenhurst’s second look on goal in the 32nd minute, but had his shot blocked by the Eastleigh defence.
The young Spitfires’ last chance of the half came when Henry Mubiru had a go from the edge of the box. His shot sailed just wide of the post.
Elliot Wells got the hosts back on level terms just after the break, with an effort from close-range.
Killick restored the young Spitfires’ lead in the 63rd minute. He hit the ball from range and managed to find the top right corner of the goal, much to the delight of his teammates.
Mubiru then extended the young Spitfires’ lead. He found the roof of the net with a close-range effort with just under 20 minutes remaining.
Dragos Neagu pulled one back for the hosts late on, with a free-kick that managed to find it’s way under the wall.
Sol Cessay had a headed effort gathered by Pardey late on, before the young Spitfires went on to see out the game and progress to the next round.
