The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action this afternoon as we make the trip up to West Yorkshire to face FC Halifax Town at the Shay Stadium on Saturday 14th September, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

FC Halifax Town:

The Shaymen were at home during the week, and hosted Oldham Athletic at the Shay Stadium.

After going a goal down just after half-time, Adam Senior pegged the Latics back in the 62nd minute.

Despite a late sending off for Oldham, Halifax could not find a second goal. The game ended in a draw.

This afternoon’s hosts are unbeaten in their last three games.

Eastleigh:

During the week, the Spitfires travelled to Essex to face Southend United under the lights.

The game ended with the Spitfires on the wrong end of the scoreline, for just the second time this campaign.

Last weekend, the Spitfires hosted Tamworth at the Silverlake Stadium. Paul McCallum found the back of the net in the sixth minute, with the only goal of the game.

This was the Spitfires’ third clean sheet of the National League season.

Previous meetings:

The two sides last met on the final day of the 2023/24 season, in a clash at the Silverlake Stadium. The Shaymen came out on top that day.

The last time the sides met at the Shay Stadium, the Spitfires were the ones that won, with the goals coming from Paul McCallum and Chris Maguire.
