The Spitfires are in Servio Men’s Senior Cup action as we travel to Westleigh Park to face Clanfield on Tuesday 10th September, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.
Clanfield:
‘The Clan’ have had a mixed bag of results so far in the Wessex Football League and have picked up eight points from their opening seven games.
The hosts come into this game off the back of a 3-1 win against AFC Aldermaston after goals from Jacob Pope, Harvey Cooper, and Henry Searle were enough to more than complete a comeback from 1-0 down.
Fredrick Penfold and Henry Searle are ones to watch after scoring five and four goals this season, respectively.
Clanfield have seen off both Fleetlands and Fareham Town to get to this stage of the competition.
Eastleigh:
With the first-team travelling to Southend United for their National League fixture, the Elite Development Squad will represent the Spitfires in the Servio Men’s Senior Cup.
The EDS’ last game ended in smiles for the boys in blue after they beat Southend United 2-1 thanks to goals from Jamie Arnold and Sam Godfroy.
This is the Spitfires’ first game of this competition as they enter in Round Two.
Previous meetings:
This will be the first time the two sides have met in any competition.
