A rapid start for the Spitfires, with two goals within the first ten minutes sees them take down Solihull Moors at the Silverlake Stadium.
Jake Taylor and Paul McCallum both got their names on the scoresheet for the second game in a row. A late goal from Bradley Stevenson gave the visitors hope, but it was not enough for them to push on and get a result.
It did not take long for the Spitfires to open the scoring, a mistake from the Moors defence meant McCallum would find himself through on goal. He unselfishly squared the ball into the path of Taylor who stayed cool and slotted the ball home to put the Spitfires in charge.
The dominance continued from the Spitfires, with them finding the back of the net for a second time just seven minutes later. Scott Quigley picked up the ball on the edge of the box before curling a cross straight onto the head of McCallum who did was he does best, he directed the ball into the back of the net to double the Spitfires lead.
Quigley had the Spitfires’ next attempt on goal in the 24th minute. He whacked the ball on the half-volley from around 25-yards out and tested Laurie Walker who was forced into making a diving save to force the ball away from the target.
McCallum was forced off through injury just before the break, after registering a goal and an assist within the first 38 minutes.
Neither side managed to create any real chances for the remainder of the half, with the Spitfires entering the break two goals to the good.
Following the break, the Moors had the first go on goal. Matty Warburton struck the ball from just inside the box, but skied his effort that Wass sent sailing over goal and into the South Stand concourse.
Quigley had a go at adding to the Spitfires goal tally in the 65th minute. He dinked the ball out wide to Tyres Shade, who would then give the ball back to the striker on the edge of the box. He took the ball to the right of his defender before curling a shot towards goal. Walker got down low to save his shot.
Conor Wilkinson came close to pulling one back for the visitors not too long after Quigley’s effort. The ball was sent into his path with some pace behind it, but he flashed his shot wide of the mark.
Jake Vokins put Shade in the position to have a go on goal in the 74th minute. Shade cut inside from the left side of the box before unleashing his effort, but he could not get his shot on target.
The visitors did go on to pull a goal back during injury time through Bradley Stevenson, but it was not enough and the Spitfires went on to hold on to secure their third win in a many games.
