It’s time for the Spitfires’ final pre-season fixture as we travel to St James Park to face Exeter City on Saturday 3rd August, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Exeter City:

Like the Spitfires, this will be the Grecians’ last pre-season fixture before they return to league action on the 10th August.

They have had a busy pre-season schedule and have already played eight times. They have only lost once, drawn twice and won five times.

In their most recent outing, the Grecians drew 2-2 against National League South side, Torquay United. Josh Magennis scored his fourth pre-season goal early on in the tie, before his strike was backed up by a header from Jack Fitzwater.

Former Spitfire, Vincent Harper will have the chance to play against his old club after he left us to make the move to the Football League side at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires have been solid defensively in their recent games, earning back to back clean sheets. The first coming in a 1-0 win against Swindon Town, and the second coming against Chippenham Town earlier this week.

The only game that the Spitfires have lost during pre-season was against Premier League side, Southampton.

In our five pre-season games, we have scored eight times and have had seven different goal scorers, with Scott Quigley being the only player to score multiple times.

We will be back in league action in a weeks time as we travel to York Road to face Maidenhead United in our season opener.
