The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action, it’s time for our home opener as we host AFC Fylde at the Silverlake Stadium, with a kick-off time of 3pm.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires faced Maidenhead United at York Road on the opening day, and began the season with a win and a clean sheet.

Jake Vokins forced an own goal in the 32nd minute before finding the back of the net with a free kick just seven minutes later.

He lofted his long range effort over the Magpies defence before it bounced into the top left corner of the goal. This would be the second and last goal of the game as the Spitfires went on to win 2-0.

AFC Fylde:

The Coasters also started the season with a win, they hosted lasts season’s play-off finalists Solihull Moors at Mill Farm and won 3-2.

Fylde took the lead in the 10th minute through Nick Haughton, before Solihull came back at them and scored twice to take the lead.

Haughton would then go on to find the back of the net twice after this, completing his hat trick and sealing the win for the Coasters.

Previous meetings:

The two sides last met back in February, the Coasters took a 2-0 lead in the 48th minute which would go on to be enough to earn them all three points, despite 40-yard strike from Ben Reeves late on.

Earlier in the season, the Spitfires beat this afternoon’s visitors at Mill Farm with our goals coming from Jake Taylor and Paul McCallum on the day.
