The Spitfires are back in Vanarama National League action as travel to Cheshire to face Altrincham at the J Davidson Stadium on Saturday 24th August, with a kick-off time of 3pm.
Altrincham:
The Robins have had a bit of a mixed bag of results to start the season. They have won against Woking and Maidenhead, but struggled against Sutton United as they were beaten 5-0 by the Greater London side.
They faced Maidenhead United at York Road in their last game, a first-half strike from James Jones ended up being enough of them to get over the line and secure the win against the Magpies.
Altrincham had an impressive campaign last season. They finished in 4th place in the Vanarama National League, before being beaten by Bromley in the play-offs, who would go on to earn promotion at Wembley.
Eastleigh:
The Spitfires have had a fast start to the season, with us winning all of our first three games in the league.
We met Solihull Moors earlier in our most recent game earlier in the week and took them down under the lights at the Silverlake Stadium.
A rapid start for the Spitfires saw us go two goals to the good within the first 10 minutes of the game. Jake Taylor opened the scoring in the third minute, before Paul McCallum backed his goal up with another just seven minutes later.
The Moors managed to pull a goal back late on, but it was not enough of them to be able to get a result as the Spitfires went on to secure another win.
Previous meetings:
The Spitfires have had a tough time on the road in our previous meetings against Altrincham. In the six games that we have played at the J Davidson Stadium, we have not managed to pick up a win.
However, at home we have had a better time of it. We have won four out of our six meetings against Altrincham at the Silverlake Stadium.
