The Spitfires make the long trip up north to take on Gateshead in the National League on Tuesday 6th February, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm at the Gateshead International Stadium.

Gateshead:

The hosts currently occupy the final play-off position in 7th and are looking to make it three wins in a row in the league.

The Heed beat promotion contenders Barnet 2-1 in their last home game, as second-half strikes from Luke Hannant and Kain Adom overturned a 1-0 deficit at the half.

Last time out, they secured an important three points away at Southend United, with Marcus Dinanga scoring the only goal of the game.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires are looking to bounce back following a difficult start to 2024 in the league, in which they’ve drawn twice and lost three times.

At the weekend, Eastleigh hosted the league’s runaway leaders Chesterfield, where they were beaten 3-1.

Paul McCallum was sent off in first-half stoppage time with the game at 1-0, and it remained that score until a late flurry of goals wrapped up the win for the visitors.

Previous Meetings:

The five most recent meetings between the two sides have been evenly split, with both sides winning twice and the other match ending in a draw.

Gateshead have won the last two, however, including an emphatic 6-0 win at the Silverlake Stadium back in September.

The most recent away trip to Gateshead resulted in a 1-1 draw back in October 2022, as Ryan Hill’s opener for Eastleigh was cancelled out by an equaliser from Dan Jarvis.
