The Spitfires are hitting the road in the Vanarama National League for the first time in 2024 as they face Boreham Wood at Meadow Park on 24th January, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm.

Boreham Wood:

Unlike the Spitfires, the Wood were in action over the weekend.

They faced Bromley at Hayes Lane on Saturday in a game that ended in a stalemate.

Kwesi Appiah rescued a point for Boreham Wood with an 88th minute strike, to make the score 2-2.

Despite only winning one out of their last four games, the Wood haven’t lost since before Christmas, a streak that they will be looking to continue as they host the Spitfires.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires were not in action over the weekend, along with many other National League fixtures, our game against Oldham Athletic was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Last time out we faced Newport County in an Emirates FA Cup third round replay.

The visitors came out victorious in front of a packed Silverlake Stadium.

Our previous league game came against Southend United on the 13th of January.

Jack Bridge scored a penalty in the 53rd minute which put the visitors on course to take down the Spitfires.

Previous meetings:

The two sides have already faced each other twice this season.

Both meetings came at the Silverlake, and both meetings were won by the Spitfires.

The first meeting of the season came in the Emirates FA Cup, braces from Ludwig Francillette and Chris Maguire and a first-half strike from Nigel Atangana saw the Spitfires cruise their way past Boreham Wood back in November.

The second time the sides met was in the league later that month.

Paul McCallum scored a brace which helped the Spitfires earn a 2-1 win on the day.
