The Spitfires are back in action for the second time this week as we travel up to Greater Manchester to face Altrincham at the J Davidson Stadium on Saturday 27th January, with a kick-off time of 3pm.
Altrincham:
The hosts are without a win in either of their last two games.
They faced Chesterfield at the Technique Stadium last time out and fell to a 2-1 defeat after Chesterfield substitute, James Berry dealt a killer blow to them in the 83rd minute.
The were knocked out of the FA Trophy by Kidderminster Harriers following a penalty shootout in their game before this.
A tightly fought contest left the game goalless after 90 minutes, with Kidderminster going on to win4-2 on penalties.
The hosts currently occupy 6th place in the National League and have accumulated a total 43 points so far this season.
Eastleigh:
The Spitfires drew with Boreham Wood at Meadow Park last time out.
They entered half-time with a 2-0 advantage but three goals in quick succession from the hosts put them on the back foot.
Paul McCallum tied the game up before academy product, Malachi Dotse put the Spitfires ahead in the 89th minute with his first senior goal in just his second appearance for the club.
Boreham Wood won a penalty right at the death that they would go on to score, forcing the points to be shared with between the two sides.
The Spitfires had been out of action for eight days before this after their game against Oldham Athletic over the weekend was called off due to a frozen pitch.
Previous meetings:
This will be the second meetings between the two clubs this season.
A first-half goal from Scott Quigley was backed up late on by McCallum who sealed a 2-1 win for the Spitfires in the 86th minute at the Silverlake Stadium back in November.
The Spitfires have never won at the J Davidson Stadium despite having played their five times previously.
