The Spitfires FA Cup journey continues as they host Reading at the Silverlake Stadium on Sunday 3rd December, with a kick-off time of 1:30pm.
Eastleigh:
The Spitfires made the trip up to Derbyshire to face Chesterfield last time out but despite a late resurgence they failed to pick up any points and lost 3-2.
Paul McCallum registered yet another goal in the 75th minute before Scott Quigley added a second for the Spitfires just five minutes later.
The two games before this were both wins that came against Altrincham and Boreham Wood.
The Spitfires earned themselves a place in the second round of the FA Cup after they beat Boreham Wood 5-1 at the Silverlake Stadium last month.
Reading will be well aware of McCallum’s recent hot-streak, he is one for them to watch out for in this clash.
Reading:
The Royals have not had the season that they would have been hoping for, they are currently sat in 23rd place in League One.
They have conceded the second most goals in League One so far this season.
However, they have been on from as of late. They have picked up back to back wins in their last two league appearances.
During the week, they beat Carlisle 5-1 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
They bought their ticket into the second round of the FA Cup with a 3-2 win against MK Dons.
Saints loanee Dom Ballard was forced off the pitch during the first-half of their 2-1 win away against Wycombe last Saturday.
Previous meetings:
There is only a very brief bit of history for this clash as the two sides have only met once before.
That game came in a pre-season friendly just over five years ago at the Silverlake Stadium.
The Spitfires won the game 2-1 with McCallum being one of the goal scorers on the day.
