The Spitfires are in action again in the Vanarama National League as they face Oxford City under the lights at the Silverlake Stadium on 19th September, with a kick off time of 7:45pm.
Eastleigh:
The Spitfires responded well after their 6-0 defeat to Gateshead last week when they travelled to AFC Fylde last time out and picked up a reassuring 2-1 win to get their season back on track.
Jake Taylor opened his Spitfires account early on in the game and Paul McCallum added another in the second half to give the Spitfires their first win away win of the season.
The Spitfires sit just below Oxford City in the table, both sides have 10 points but the Oxfordshire side have a better goal difference.
Charlie Carter’s performance against AFC Fylde was enough to get him into the Vanarama National League team of the week. He will be looking to kick on and continue that form against Oxford City.
Oxford City:
The visitors are in-form at the moment, they have gone unbeaten in their last six games.
Last time out they hosted Dagenham & Redbridge in an evenly fought game that ended 0-0.
They beat Hartlepool 5-2 with an impressive display in their previous game with Pierre Fonkeu coming off the bench and scoring a brace for the Oxfordshire side that day.
Josh Parker will be travelling to the Silverlake Stadium hoping to add to his five goals that he has scored so far this season in the eight games that he has played, he will be one to watch for the Spitfires.
