The Spitfires travel to Dorset to take on Dorchester Town in their next pre-season friendly, on Tuesday 25th July, with a kick-off time of 7:45pm at the Avenue Stadium.

Dorchester Town:

This fixture is the final pre-season test before the Magpies start their league campaign on 5th August away to Merthyr Town.

The game against the Spitfires represents the toughest challenge of the pre-season for the hosts, with the Hampshire side being the highest-ranked club they have faced.

Dorchester opened their pre-season with a 3-1 win over Bashley, before losing 1-0 to Weston-Super-Mare four days later.

In their four friendlies since, they have won once, drawn once, and lost twice, including a 5-0 defeat at home to Yeovil Town.

Eastleigh fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at home to League Two outfit Swindon Town at the weekend.

Former Southampton striker Charlie Austin put the visitors ahead from the spot, with Saidou Khan doubling their lead in the 57th minute.

New signing Scott Quigley came off the bench to halve the deficit and fellow summer signing Enzio Boldewijn levelled the game in the 82nd minute.

Eastleigh have also drawn with League One opposition in pre-season, after a goalless draw at the Silverlake Stadium with Oxford United.

The Spitfires comfortably saw off Fareham Town with an impressive 8-0 win against the Creeksiders and their only defeat of pre-season was the 2-0 loss against Bristol Rovers on 8th July.

Manager Lee Bradbury has bolstered his squad ahead of the new campaign, with former Sunderland player Chris Maguire the latest to join the club, adding a wealth of experience to the team.

Previous Meetings:

The two sides haven’t met in nine years, however, this used to be a regular fixture in the National League South, with the Spitfires winning their last three games against the Magpies.
