Eastleigh Football Club are delighted to announce that Joe McDonnell has extended his stay at the Silverlake Stadium after penning a new deal.

The shot-stopper has featured 138 times during his three-year stay at the club.

McDonnell kept 17 clean sheets in the 2022/23 campaign in what was an impressive campaign.

The 28-year-old joined Eastleigh from Notts County in 2020 and has become a fan favourite since moving to the club.

Upon signing the new deal, McDonnell said: “It’s class! I’m looking forward to it. It’s time to get a little bit of rest in now but I’m sure when pre-season begins, I’ll be ready to go for what will hopefully be a positive season.”

Spitfires’ manager, Lee Bradbury, commented: “I’m delighted to have Joe commit himself to the club after he kept the joint-most clean sheets in the league. I believe he is one of the best goalkeepers in the league.”
