Eastleigh are on the road for a second consecutive match as they travel to Huish Park to face Yeovil Town in the 36th matchday of the Vanarama National League on Tuesday 7th March with a 7:45pm kick-off. Preview in association with Unibet.

Yeovil Town:

Yeovil earned their first point in five matches at the weekend coming from behind to draw 1-1 with 10-man Altrincham at Huish Park.

Jordan Maguire-Drew scored the crucial penalty to get the Glovers level on the 79th minute and secure a point which saw Yeovil climb out of the relegation zone.

The Glovers currently sit in 20th position just one point and one place above the dotted line with 13 matches left in their season.

Despite their last home victory being in November, 23 of their 33 points have come at Huish Park, where Yeovil have only lost five of 18 matches so far in this campaign.

The problem for the Glovers’ has been their lack of goals, having scored a league-low of 28 goals all campaign, with top scorer Alex Fisher on a total of five, in front of second-placed Malachi Linton on four goals for the season.

Eastleigh:

The Spitfires’ continued their scintillating run of form by moving to seven matches unbeaten with a 1-0 victory at Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Despite being reduced to ten-men Danny Whitehall’s 13th goal of the season was enough to secure a fourth consecutive away victory.

The Spitfires have picked up 19 points from a possible 21 in their unbeaten streak, a run which has propelled Eastleigh into sixth position, four points and two places inside the play-off places.

The defensive stability has played a major role in Eastleigh’s promotion bid, as Aaron Martin made it into the National League Team of the Week for his performance on Saturday, while Joe McDonnell kept a sixth clean sheet in seven matches to make it their 14 for the season.

Fixture History:

The two sides have met six times in their history with the head-to-head perfectly level, with each side winning two, losing two, and drawing two.

In the reverse fixture, the teams played out a 1-1 draw at the Silverlake Stadium with Sam Pearson giving the Glovers an early lead before JJ McKiernan’s second-half strike meant the spoils were shared.
