Eastleigh secured their first three points of the season following a 1-0 win over Wealdstone at the Silverlake Stadium.
Tristan Abrahams scored his maiden league goal for the club on his home league debut to seal the points for the Spitfires.
The summer signing got on the end of Ryan Hill’s cross and saw his initial effort blocked, but he was quick to pounce and fire in the rebound.
There was a debut for new signing John Oyenuga as manager Lee Bradbury made three changes from last week’s defeat to Wrexham, with Jake Hesketh and Ryan Hill also coming into the starting line-up.
The first chance of the game came in the seventh minute, when a Corey Panter cross found Brennan Camp at the back-post, but his effort looped over the bar and onto the top of the net.
Eastleigh’s bright start continued as debutant Oyenuga fizzed an effort narrowly wide from the edge of the box.
Ten minutes before the break, Hesketh forced a fine save out of Wealdstone’s Samuel Howes, as the Spitfires continued to create chances.
In first half stoppage time, Hesketh once again came close, this time firing wide of the mark as the half ended goalless.
Hesketh’s influence continued in the second half, on 53 minutes he blazed a shot over the bar with Eastleigh’s first attempt of the second half.
The breakthrough finally came on the hour mark, with Abrahams giving the hosts a deserved lead.
The former Grimsby forward received the ball from Hill and saw his initial shot blocked by a Wealdstone defender, but he reacted quickest and fired the rebound past Howes.
The visitors almost hit back immediately, as Dominic Hutchinson’s effort stung the palms of Joe McDonnell.
Substitute Oscar Rutherford was lively having replaced Hill and almost wrapped up the win in stoppage time, only to see his fine effort hit the post.
