Eastleigh Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender, George Langston, on a permanent deal.
The 19-year-old defender is the Spitfires’ second summer signing ahead of the 2022/23 season, and has penned a permanent deal at the Silverlake Stadium following his departure from Watford FC.
The young Englishman spent six years at the Hornets, captaining their U23s side and making a first team appearance for during a 0-0 pre-season friendly against West Bromwich Albion in 2021.
When asked about the opportunity to step into senior football full-time, George Langston said:
“I was keen to do it last season as well but a couple of injuries probably stopped me from doing that, but I’m really looking forward to kicking on now and hopefully getting a chance to try and get this team in the play-offs and maybe even get them promoted”
When asked what he feels he can bring to the team after sealing his move to the Silverlake Stadium, Langston replied:
“I feel like I’m a leader. I’m quite young, I know, but I feel like that’s just me and my personality. I can be quite loud but also I’m just a defender that just puts his body on the line and is quite passionate. I’ve also got the technical ability to try and play as well so hopefully one that’s a positive influence on the team.”
George Langston will officially join the Spitfires on the 1st July, subject to FA and National League approval.
