Eastleigh Football Club can confirm that goalkeeper, Joe McDonnell, has joined fellow Vanarama National League side, Solihull Moors, on a short term emergency loan deal.
Joe remains contracted to the Spitfires for next season, but will be eligible to feature in the Moors’ final two games of the season as well as the National League playoffs.
Ahead of joining Solihull Moors, Joe McDonnell explained:
“It’s happened quite quickly, I got told by my agent that there was the interest – I don’t know too many details if it was injuries or whatever but it’s an emergency loan for the last two games and the playoffs.
“[Solihull Moors] then approached the club and spoke to them about it. I think they have reluctantly let me go, but I’m thankful for them allowing me to go as the opportunity to play in the playoffs and get that experience was too good to turn down.
“I’m here next year, that’s the main point. I’ll just be playing the last two games and then however many in the playoffs.
“Hopefully this experience can help us [Eastleigh] next season when we’re trying to push for those positions and I’ve got those games already under my belt.”
We wish Joe all the best in the playoffs with Solihull Moors, and look forward to welcoming him back in pre-season.
